A Year of Exploration at Beaumont Elementary School!

2017-2018 has already proven to be a year of exciting change and celebrations here in Vista!  Exploring personalized learning, character education, and improving literacy is moving us in a positive direction!  Beaumont is experiencing growth as we focus on becoming the school parents want to bring their children to for a stellar education in academics as well as becoming mindful, kind, and empathetic.  Our staff is committing to exploring personalized learning so that our students are prepared for the present as well as for the future that holds endless possibilities and jobs that do not yet exist.

In order to have an environment that fosters learning, Beaumont is implementing school-wide training on Restorative Practices. Restorative Practices positively influences behavior, encourages repairing harm, and helps restore relationships.  We all know students can better learn in an environment where they have positive relationships with their teachers and peers and where they can learn from mistakes.

To elevate our students’ performance in literacy, our mission is to close achievement gaps and increase student engagement in reading.  Our staff has collaboratively boosted efforts to improve teaching literacy.  Continued professional development for our teachers and co-teaching is helping us meet our goal to have all of our students learning to read. One on one teaching and learning and small group lessons are a common sight on campus as well as students learning to love reading as they work to read and meet the challenge of reading 100+ books!

Finally, we are continuing our efforts to provide strong home- to- school connections by hosting Parent Awareness Nights on a monthly basis.  We value the support and input we gather on these evenings, and our teachers and staff work hard to give parents resources to continue literacy and numeracy efforts at home.  With our families, our students’ academics and social emotional development will continue to be our focus here at Beaumont.
